Resources

A single source of truth for packing logic.

PacManage™ allows you to configure all packing SOPs in one place, with no code changes. Create and configure rules, augment your data, and deploy changes with ease.

How it works

Packing shouldn't be so hard to fix. PacManage™ was built for operators to take control of packing, once and for all. Instead of waiting on IT or WMS updates, operators can create, test, and deploy new packing rules instantly. Fast adjustments, fewer errors, smoother fulfillment.

Your System of Record for Packing

Resources

Resources is the control center for your packing logic. Create, save, and manage both your packing rules and your box types in one simple interface - no IT intervention required. Simply pull up an order, apply whatever SKU-specific rules you need to, and you're ready to go.

Resources ensure your packing logic is always accessible, flexible, and easy to manage regardless of what your backend systems can support.

Packing Rules Examples

selection arrow Internal Space

If an item has space inside of it that can be used to contain other items in an order, we can define that by using the internal-space rule. By incorporating these additional properties to a given SKU, we can utilize this void space for packing in order to minimize box size. For example, a bowl with space inside for additional items.

settings gear Lock Orientation

The lock-orientation rule is used to force a specific orientation of an item when the item is placed in a carton. For example, a bottle of liquid should not be packed on its side, or any type of item whose movement is restricted to one or two axes.

cardboard box Pack As Is

When an item is already packed in a shippable container, we can tag this item with a "pack as is" rule to ensure it is not packed with any other items and is exclusively packed in a "container" of its own dimensions. This accommodates items which are able to be "shipped in own container" (SIOC).

transparent box Alternate Dimensions

To accommodate the real-life packing behavior of soft or otherwise compressible items such as apparel, we can use the Alternate Dimensions rule. This means an item can shrink, fold or expand when placed into a shipping carton.

Analyze and Validate Packing

Inspector

Inspector, the 3D visualization tool within PacManage, helps packers analyze the impact of specific packing rules. Users can rotate, zoom, and examine packing solutions from different angles for interactive analysis. Verify packing arrangements, identify potential issues or inefficiencies, and create & test new rules on the fly to validate SOPs.
